European Association of Sports Massage (EAS)
The treatment of injured persons and of the physically active has become ever more important. The responsibility of the sports therapists increases daily, and encompasses the treatment of injured athletes and preventive maintenance in general.
As a result it has become imperative that there be created a pan-European association whose aim it is to organize its members internationally.
On the 18th of March 1995 in Papendal, Holland the European Association of Sports Massage, (EAS), was grounded. Its founder members are the national associations of:
Its founding charter encompasses the following ambitious aims:
- Belgium
- Holland
- Austria
- Switzerland
That the association should be able to accomplish the above high aims, we are in need of as high a number of members as possible. We hope and trust that we have awakened your interest, and it would be our pleasure to hear from you. Please contact us, and it rest assured that we will do all in our power to answer those of your unanswered questions fore possible membership.
- the development and furthering of sports massage and sports care
- the development of international cooperation with associations with similar interests
- the creation of committees to negotiate with national and international authorities
- to establish the "Standards of Education & Training" and establish the basis for the
"Reciprocal Acknowledgement of Licenses".
