Points System

The National Association of Sports Masseurs & Therapists has constructed a points system for the following activities.

Within this points system a distinction is made between:

General: 
Aspects of sports massage such as those covered at technical evenings or congresses.
Specific:  
Aspects of sports massage such as those covered at courses and symposia.
Further: 

Aspects of sports massage which in the opinion of the National Committee may be considered as warranting extra points.

Proactive involvement with training and refresher courses such as giving instruction or carrying out instructions would be more highly rated than simple attendance. Participation in activities which demand a large personal contribution may be given a higher rating than those requiring no participation.

Points to be awarded per activity.

  2 points:
Sessions without self-involvement (i. e lectures, information evenings, product information).
  5 points:
Technical with self-involvement (i. e practical workshops).
10 points:
Theme sessions and symposia.
15 points: 
Each Module of a National Association Diploma/refresher course.
  2 points:

 
Each day or session as sports therapist at a recognized sports event or with a sports governing body national or regional nominated team. Maximum of 8 points in a year. The system. is to help develop Hallmark of Quality for Sports Massage Therapists.

Further relevant sessions or workshops at home or abroad may be recognized by the National Committee at their discretion for a minimum of 1 point. A minimum of 60 points must be obtained within a period of 5 years. This card may only be signed by an authorized person.
